BATTLE OF THE BADGES 2009

Final Weigh in Event!

Battle of the Badges 2009 is a weight loss competition among three Orange County law enforcement agencies—the Anaheim Police Department, the Santa Ana Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Ten representatives from each agency will compete as teams to lose the greatest percentage of weight in ten weeks while doing the Lindora weight loss program. They will weigh in daily, and updates will be posted on the Lindora website.

During the competition, participants will also serve as "Healthy Heroes" by mentoring local children and teenagers, who will also be losing weight on the Lindora program.

Matt Barr (Matt was a participant in last year’s Battle of the Badges competition, and lost 35 pounds in 10 weeks. He continued on the Lindora program and lost a total of 50 pounds. This year his two sons, Matthew and Sam, joined the adolescent team and were mentored by Matt during the 10 week program.)
   
History: Last year, 20 law enforcement officers competed in the first-ever Battle of the Badges, and together lost 724 pounds in just 10 weeks. The Santa Ana Police Department won the Battle of the Badges trophy by losing 410.84 pounds and 15.84% of their combined starting weight.
   
Sponsor: Battle of the Badges 2009 is being sponsored by the Lean for Life Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Lindora, Inc. One of the missions of the Lean for Life Foundation is to educate the public about the importance and benefits of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
